What is the relationship between publishing and the fairs?
The fairs and magazines are both wholly owned by Matthew Slotover and Amanda Sharp. frieze magazine was founded, in 1991, by Amanda Sharp and Matthew Slotover. When the magazine began, they both served as editors, but ceased direct involvement in editorial decisions in 2001. Matthew and Amanda are Publishing Directors of frieze d/e but all editorial decisions are made by the frieze d/e editorial team. As Frieze Directors, Matthew and Amanda maintain the overall direction of the art fairs and magazines.
